Serving as Project Manager with my mentor Senior Project Manager David Stuercke, The initial phase of the Laboratory Schools expansion and renovation initiative, Earl Shapiro Hall, was completed in 2013. Situated on Stony Island Avenue, separate from the main campus and overlooking Jackson Park and the Museum of Science and Industry, this standalone structure encompasses key elements of a comprehensive school building. Beyond traditional features like classrooms, art and music rooms, library, and gymnasium, the facility includes fully equipped administrative offices, counseling spaces, and innovative learning labs. Noteworthy are the outdoor courtyards and adjacent learning labs integrated into the design, fostering a dynamic educational environment.
