Punjab Kotie
In a common practice among immigrants, the construction of single-family residences in their countries of origin is prevalent. Notably, 90% of new residential constructions in Punjab villages are financially supported from overseas. Proposing a conceptual design to five brothers and their families, residing in Toronto, London, and New York, the objective was to develop a net-zero, multi-generational vacation home built to western standards. The aim was to create a space that is not only comfortable and sustainable but also appealing to the second and third generations, encouraging them to connect with and preserve their cultural roots. With a project start date yet to be determined, initial efforts included minor renovation work to restore existing structures to livable conditions.
